Module 05 / STEM Education / Grades 1–5

Ask. Build.
Test. Improve.

Noble Youth Academy STEM Education connects science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through evidence-based problem solving. Students learn the reasoning behind a skill, practice with original grade-level challenges, build a saved mastery profile, keep a design notebook, and apply what they know through hands-on projects.

Grade-by-grade STEM progression

Start where the learner is.
Then increase the challenge.

Each grade contains ten integrated domains and fifty separate practice questions. The concepts progress from observation and basic building to variables, coding, efficiency, feedback systems, optimization, and systems engineering.

Learn before practice

Ten STEM domains.
One problem-solving mindset.

Select a domain to see the learning strategy. Practice questions are deliberately separate from the final Science and Mathematics assessments already in the NYA platform.

Hands-on application

Build something.
Collect evidence.

Each grade includes project ideas that turn STEM concepts into safe, age-appropriate design and investigation work.

Adult supervision: Hands-on activities should use age-appropriate classroom or household materials and adult supervision where heat, water, tools, electricity, small parts, fans, or other hazards could be involved. Use only safe low-voltage educational circuit kits; never use household mains electricity.
Guided STEM Practice Lab

Practice one domain
or mix all ten.

Get immediate feedback and an explanation after every response. Results are saved by STEM domain on this device.

Practice history is a learning signal, not an official grade or high-stakes assessment result.

STEM Design Notebook

Record the thinking,
not just the answer.

Save observations, measurements, design ideas, failed attempts, coding logic, and improvements for each grade.

Connect to existing NYA STEM work

Practice here.
Then build and demonstrate.

The STEM pathway connects naturally to NYA Science Foundations, Mathematics Mastery, and the Young Inventors STEAM work already developed by Rotger Research Foundation.

LOCAL ASSESSMENTS

Science + Mathematics

Use the local Science Foundations and Mathematics Mastery assessments to demonstrate the academic knowledge that supports integrated STEM work.

YOUNG INVENTORS

STEAM Formula Challenge

The existing Young Inventors Formula Challenge is an enrichment experience developed for Grades 1–2 using real formulas with child-friendly numbers. The Grade 1–5 STEM Education Center expands the learning progression around it.
